The Sept 6th 1983 performance was epic! Somehow the intensity of the evening accelerated during the second set as Help on the Way evolved into Slipknot.

Phil was bouncing infrasonic low frequencies between the vertical rocks extending from the stage which cascaded throughout the collective consciousness of the highly energized crowd at the "Hotel Colorado!"

Thursday Sept 8th's performance was no slouch either.

Shakedown > Ramble on Rose > Brown Eyed Women > Scarlet > Fire > Terrapin

Might as well do the whole tour!
Here's the Park City Show, in case it didn't get linked correctly -

And speaking of Help On The Way>Slipknot, this Boise show gets mentioned with best ever 80's versions, but I do like the Meadowlands in April version just about as much...

Wang Dang Doodle > Jack Straw opener, smokin yes? A literal plethora of fun came to fruition on this run.

Healy was instrumental in the sonic delivery of these fine performances. He was in his element enjoying the transparent mixing of a sound system in the great outdoors unless of course the wind and rain suddenly converged on the scene as your nemesis.

Forum: GratefulDead Subject: Citizens of Boise ,,,,,,,,,,,one of my favorite first sets ever

It doesnt get much better from any time period

This whole first set is just stellar, especially;
jack straw
wang dang
be women... which is just over the top
----------
fall 83 was a funky funky period. The band was playing really fast and riding the jams into new terrain. Much more spirited imho than 80-81. Fall 83 has some lesser known shows that really should not be overlooked

especially
9-24-83
10-22-83
